Wirral woman who moved Class A drugs from Liverpool to Cumbria jailed in County Lines drug sting

A woman who helped move drugs between Cumbria and Liverpool in a County Line s operation has been jailed.

Cody McNulty, 23, of Clifford Street in Birkenhead, was part of a gang that trafficked drugs between Merseyside and Cumbria.

McNulty, 23, was sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison after she was convicted of two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and one count of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs after a trial.

Sentencing McNulty, Judge Beverley Lunt said that the Birkenhead woman was involved in a County Lines operation between Cumbria and Liverpool.

Judge Lunt said: "You were involved in the supply of Class A drugs over county lines in Liverpool and Barrow.

“You accept that you were present on some of these trips. But the evidence makes it clear that you were in the car with two of the main dealers involved in controlled drugs.

“The only possible common sense explanation is grim."

At an earlier trial McNulty was found not guilty of two counts of arranging travel of another person with a view to exploitation.

County Lines gangs refer the growing trend of big city city gangs selling drugs in smaller towns and rural areas. They often exploit the young and vulnerable.

The sentencing took place on June 30 at Preston Crown court.
