Wirral The Chase contestant raises eyebrows in 'statement' shirt

A Wirral contestant on The Chase got viewers talking tonight as soon as he appeared on screen, because of the shirt he was wearing.

Ken, 66, appeared on the show in a very bright and vivid Hawaiian shirt to take on The Dark Destroyer, Shaun Wallace, who was tonight's Chaser.

Before he took on The Chaser Ken chatted to host Bradley Walsh and said he was doing an MA in writing now but before that he worked in the oil industry.

Away from writing Ken said he enjoyed playing football and chess and if he won some cash he wanted to go back to Canada and go to the Rockies.

Ken scored £5,000 in his cash builder and decided to play for that saying: "It's important for people to get back so I'm going to go for the five."

But viewers at home couldn't help but comment on his choice of attire.

Ant said: "Look at Ken's shirt the rascal."

Mr Chambers said: "Is Ken’s shirt made from a mural?"

Another said: "Ken and his dodgy shirt."

Ken from Wirral wore a very bold shirt on The Chase (ITV)

Daz said: "Ken turn your shirt down, it's a bit loud."

And Gillian Hudson simply said: "Ken.. That shirt... Why??"

Ken did well against the Chaser and managed to bring the £5,000 back to his team with no issues.

Bradley Walsh even commented on the shirt after Ken got through, and said: "Love the shirt mate, proper statement that."

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV on Monday
