Coronavirus case numbers are down in Wirral, ahead of what could be a difficult winter for the NHS.
In the week up to November 11, there were 1,092 cases in the borough, a fall from 1,126 the week before.
The latest figures follow a trend of declining case numbers, which has been consistent since early October.

Members of Wirral Council’s Adult Social Care and Public Health Committee, which met tonight, were shown a report which detailed the continuing work being done to keep the virus in check in the borough.
The committee was told of one example of this work, as a member of the previous night’s committee had tested positive for the virus.
In reaction to this, no one who attended that meeting could be present tonight and each councillor who attended last night was instructed to take a PCR test.
But there was good news for Wirral in terms of Covid-19 related hospital admissions. They were down to just 27 on the latest figures, which show admission levels on November 9, from 32 the week before.
Earlier on this year, on January 8, there were 279 people in Wirral’s hospitals with coronavirus.
The stark fall in admissions we have seen since, despite restrictions being lifted, shows the immense impact the vaccine has had.
However, the most recent figures we have for deaths, which cover the week up to November 5, were the highest seen in Wirral since March.
Nine people in the borough died with Covid-19 registered on the death certificate in the period, with a higher deaths figure not seen since the week up to March 12.
