People in one part of Wirral say their water supply was severely reduced over the weekend.
Posting on the Facebook group Wallasey Gossip yesterday, one person said: “I live in Seacombe and have very low water pressure, almost a trickle - there is an incident open but it's from Friday. Is anyone having trouble with theirs?”
Several others said they were having trouble.
Another person said: “I'm [in] Seacombe ferry, ours has been very low and more like spitting water.”
One member of the group added: “I had no pressure earlier off Gorsedale [Road in Poulton] near the tunnel.”
Other members reported issues in Liscard and further afield in Birkenhead.
United Utilities said some localised problems with water supply were caused by a water leak in Seacombe’s Tudor Avenue, but this has now been resolved.
It is understood that the problem affected around 25 nearby properties.
But the water company said this did not explain all the problems customers have reported and issued some advice.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We have repaired the water leak in Tudor Avenue this morning which was causing localised problems and all supplies have been restored. We’re really sorry to people for the disruption.

“However, this was a very localised issue and is unlikely to have been responsible for issues in the other areas of Wallasey.
“The extremely cold weather is currently causing lots of frozen pipes across the region, and we are getting lots of calls. Many of the problems are on customers’ own pipes, rather than our water mains network. In these circumstances we can only give advice.
“A quick way to tell if it’s our pipes or yours is to check with your neighbours. If they are having the same problem as you, the issue could be our water mains so please give us a call as soon as you can so we can come out and rectify it quickly.”
Earlier this month, the company gave some advice for people whose pipes were responsible for their disrupted water supply.
A statement from United Utilities added: “When we see several days of sub-zero temperatures like this, any exposed pipework entering your house can be at risk of freezing.
"The culprit is usually the section of pipe just around your stop tap, often under the kitchen sink.
“There are some tips you can try. You need to gently heat the pipe, using a hair dryer or a hot water bottle. It can take around 15 minutes, but it might be enough just to thaw the pipe and get your water moving again.
“Make sure you keep an eye out for leaks, as the pipe might have split. If you see a leak you’ll need to turn off your stop tap and call a plumber.”
