Wirral council is advertising for a job managing a project which provides much-needed help to pubs, restaurants and cafes.
The council is hiring a Senior Project Manager for the Liverpool City Region (LCR) Without Walls scheme, with the role paying between £43,857 and £48,797 per year.
Liverpool Without Walls was set up last summer in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project was set up to offer financial, physical and operational support to help independent businesses reopen safely within social distancing guidelines.
Last summer it was seen to be successful, so the scheme is being rolled out across the rest of the city region, which includes Wirral.
The goal of the job is to help “rebuild [the city region’s] hospitality, leisure and cultural offer for the remainder of 2021”, according to the job description.
The Project Manager role will run for an initial six-month period and you must apply here by 11.55pm today if you want the job.
The key requirements of the role include leading on the development and delivery of the project across Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens and Halton, the boroughs which make up the city region leaving out Liverpool itself.
Whoever gets the job must work with parts of each council including planning, licensing and highways to solve the issues facing hospitality in each borough.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the project’s budget and its efficiency.
They must also produce regular reports on their work and help guide decision making with partners.
