Wireless festival has confirmed its return for summer 2021 — but with a new location and date.

The long-running event, which had been based in Finsbury Park since 2014, will move south later this year, landing in Crystal Palace Park from September 10-12.

A line-up for the event will be unveiled “soon”, organisers promised. In 2019, J Hus, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and Travis Scott were among the headliners.

Tickets for the 2021 edition are on sale now, and can be bought here. Anyone who had already bought tickets to the event will be automatically transferred to the new dates, or can apply for a refund.

The news makes Wireless the latest addition to an increasingly busy festival calendar in the capital this summer, with a number of events shifting themselves to later in the season.

As per England’s lockdown roadmap, all social restrictions are set to be lifted from June 21 at the earliest, which seemingly signals the return of festivals. Many organisers have raised the need for government-backed insurance, which would protect them against Covid-related cancellations, in order to move ahead with planning. So far, such a scheme has not materialised.
