Wireless 2020 cancelled: Finsbury Park festival reschedules to July 2021 due to coronavirus

Wireless has become the latest major UK festival to cancel its 2020 edition over Covid-19 fears.

The Finsbury Park event was set to welcome the likes of A$AP Rocky, Skepta, Meek Mill and AJ Tracey this July, but has been forced to pull the plug with the nation still in the midst of lockdown.

In a statement, festival organisers said: “As you know we’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation, and it’s become clear that cancelling is unavoidable.”

Dates for the 2021 edition have been set out, with a provisional plan to host the festival in north London from July 2-4 next year.

Tickets bought for this summer’s edition will remain valid in 2021, while refunds are also available.

Organisers did hint that the festival might step into the digital realm this summer, with “more news on Wireless, the Virtual edition, coming soon”.

Wireless follows in the footsteps of Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Download in becoming one of the countless events cancelled in the wake of the pandemic.
