A wintery appeal

Maison Sirivannavari creative director, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.

The dress code required warm clothing as the temperature may drop to 10C, while the Alpine-inspired backdrop transported audiences to Gstaad in southwestern Switzerland.

The Sirivannavari "Glimpse Of Lucent Horizon" Autumn/Winter 2022-23 Fashion Show was recently staged at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok on the Chao Phraya River, whose grand ballroom was transformed to portray the Alpine landscape with a snowy runway.

A destination for hiking and winter sports, Gstaad also attracts visitors for its picturesque scenery and promenade.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya was inspired by the enchanting village as well as elaborate wood carving and the art of paper-cutting, which is a long-standing tradition in the Saanenland region.

Different shapes of snowflakes including their natural transformation when melting, snow-covered mountains, rows of majestic Alpine trees and reindeer were reinterpreted and combined with artworks by the Princess.

Maison Sirivannavari's creative director fashioned 42 looks of which seven were menswear under the S'Homme label.

To reflect couture expertise, textured tweed, comfy knit, delicate lace, splendour velvet, leather, faux fur and metallic fabric are used for this collection, while elaborate techniques range from lace-on-leather layering to monogram quilting.

The signature Iris jacket in tweed with cable-knit sleeves is paired with a pencil skirt while the Iris tweed coat with faux fur collar is layered over a nappa cropped tank top matched with a faux fur mini skirt.

Dresses reveal the dedication, craftsmanship and attention to detail of artisans of the Sirivannavari Atelier and Academy, who worked on feathers, crystals, beads and sequin embroideries as well as faux fur intarsia.

White crystals create snowflake effects and were alternated with beads and sequins in different shapes and sizes selected to perfectly match the base colour while hand-embroidery and ostrich feathers were applied for the art of movement.

The white winter lace dress featuring faux fur intarsia signifies the purity of edelweiss, a delicate alpine flower.

Swiss traditional paper-cutting inspires laser-cut patterns for both open-work and printing techniques offering the lace-like silhouette of mountains, Alpine trees and chalets, enhanced by the play of fluorescent colours.

Harnessing the precision of Italian tailoring, the S'Homme collection includes a wool jacket with a belt, quilted vest, loose-fit blazer and long coat with cable-knit sleeves. Shirts, parka and ski jacket feature the Alpine graphic print, respectively in crimson red and blue, matched with beige wool straight-leg trousers and white sweatpants.

The fashion show also presented the latest Noella handbag designed with quilted nylon, stud-applique and a short detachable S-Chain that can be alternated with a long canvas strap.

An iconic fauna in the Sirivannavari universe, the wild deer is a reindeer symbolising winter and the festive season. The creature graces various pieces from the new Sirivannavari Bijoux collection.

The jewellery designs reflect the melting process of snowflakes into shimmering liquid by using lucent resin and the setting of sparkling crystals while the giant chain-link earrings are achieved by a blow-glass technique.

Sirivannavari Boutique is located on the 1st floor of Siam Paragon and 1st floor of King Power Complex, Rang Nam.
