Winters essentials every woman should have for styling

Women with a genuine fashion sense flaunt their suave every season. With perfection in choosing the right winter gear, they commendably reiterate that there is no need to compromise with styling as winter provides myriad choices to meet both functional and aesthetic demands. A dynamic dressing sense should be as scintillating as protected by creating a seamless harmony between comfort and elegance. A well-thought-out winter wardrobe must have some cosy outfits in weather-friendly colours and fabrics. Since fashion is all about the stuff, the right selection of fabric should be the quintessential element in winter apparel.

Fabric facts

Fabrics like silks and brocades are a great choice for winter apparel because they are thick and insulating. Brocade is made from a mix of silk and wool, so it's perfect for keeping you warm and cosy.

Silk is also moisture-wicking – wicked sweat and moisture away from your skin, keeping you dry and comfortable. Plus, it's lightweight and breathes well, so you won't overheat when you wear it.

Fashion ensembles

Now, depending upon the tastes and preferences, one should carefully choose clothes functional in both indoor and outdoor settings. The very basic article in your closet should be the turtleneck, a shield against the breezy winter. These warm and sophisticated silhouettes can be worn as an upper or inner layer at home and outside. Besides, they can be paired with western and Indian dresses with full of grace.

If you are a working woman and dress code is saree, then you must have 2-3 long trench coats to cover the entire winter season. Their combination with saree creates a fabulous fusion statement in offices and other formal gatherings. Indian entertainment celebrities often adorn this fusion dress with utmost swag. But don’t restrict them to sarees only. Long trench coats, primarily being western, look splendid with trousers and jeans, and when they unite with midis, sublimely create a bolder impression.

Winter season offers a bevvy of fashion options to Indian women who usually prefer to position themselves in the mid of the Indian-western continuum. Alike long trench coats, cardigans and sweaters can also be used multi-purposely. A well-fitted cardigan or body-hugging pullover can be amazingly used as a blouse to complement the saree. A harmonious contrast between the two exudes a surreal display of sartorial art.

Since weekend wears are indispensable in any wardrobe, jeans and long skirts must have special space on the winter shelf. High-waisted jeans or skinny ones, whatever your preference, jeans make the weekend warm and vivacious. And your favourite jeans and skirts give the best company to the pair of heels you love most. Moreover, jeans can superbly collaborate with a wide array of trending coats and jackets. If you are a gregariously cool working women, then pair a metallic jacket with a skirt or pants and be ready good to go.

The Indian winter season can be interchangeably called wedding season, and ethnic dresses make these ceremonies pretty colourful. So, if you want to accentuate your party wears, try to wear floor-length kalidar suits, which will conceal your body warmer completely.

Colours count

Winter colours are bold and metallic. Hence, do prefer to wear black, navy blue or other dark colours such as burgundy and mustard yellow clothes in winter as dark clothes absorb most of the sun's heat and keep our body warm.
