Winter Love Island hasn't even started yet but the memes are already leaving fans in hysterics

The Winter Love Island line-up has finally arrived and the revelation of the first batch of Islanders sparked a flurry of reactions from social media users.

As Laura Whitmore prepares to welcome the new hopefuls to the new South African villa, fans of the ITV2 dating show have wasted no time in making jokes online.

From pointing out that the 12 hopefuls look a lot like previous fan favourites to predicting the mass hysteria British viewers will experience while watching, social media is already the place to be when it comes to discussing the show.

Here are some of our favourite posts so far...

You may watch your show in your room, but that doesn’t mean you (and your suitcase) shouldn’t join in with the fun:

Of course, some Twitter users merged dark jokes about World War III with quips about the start of the reality TV show:

Many people realised the sad reality of being addicted to a reality TV show that airs essentially every day for weeks:

Fans had something to say about the addition of twins Eva and Jess Gale:

And we're all still mourning the fact one man will be missing:

Islander Leanne Amaning already seems to have her squad at the ready:

How many times will Rochelle Humes’ sister Sophie Piper mention her claim to fame?

Finally, some of the Islanders look a little familiar...

The show, which first aired in 2005 before being revamped into its current format in 2015, will see a group of singletons couple up over roughly six weeks in a bid to be crowned the winners – and scoop a £50,000 cash prize.

But this is the first time the show is taking place in the winter months, with the stars hot footing it to South Africa (not an island, we know).

We'll finally get to see the Islanders enter the all-new villa on Sunday, January 12 at 9pm.
