Winter Love Island first look as singles get set for South Africa

It's now been just over four months since the final of Love Island but this time round we won't have to wait until the summer for our next fix.

And that's because, for the first time in the hit itv2 show's history, we are getting two series in the same year.

Winter Love Island is set to launch in early January and will see singles search for romance in Cape Town, South Africa rather than Mallorca, where the show has been based since it hit screens in 2015.

Caroline Flack has already been over in South Africa to shoot promos for the first ever winter edition of Love Island and now we've had a first look, as you can see in the video above.

In the video, a Love Island branded airplane is seen soaring across a bright blue sky while flying a bold banner with the words: "Do one, winter" on it.

The soundtrack to the ad is of course the now iconic Love Island theme tune and the sneak peek has had fans putting all of their eggs into one basket, willing Winter Love Island to start ASAP.

First look at Winter Love Island (ITV)

One took to Twitter, exclaiming "i can’t be the only one who screamed for dear life when the love island theme tune started playing and we got that 1 second snippet of love island winter," and another reacted "I cannot believe there is going to be a winter love island and yes I am going to watch it."

Others are already complaining that, given its title, Winter Love Island should be set in an equally wintry location, with one commenting "Winter Love Island should have been in a cold snowy setting not in a summer location. Will be boring to see the same thing twice in a year.
