The powerful cold front that brought damaging winds to WA's west coast may have already passed Perth, but be warned — the heaviest rainfall is yet to come.
The storm has brought damaging wind gusts to much of southern WA, with more than 40,000 homes without power at one stage and SES crews called to at least 50 homes.
While Perth had just 10 millimetres of rain between Monday evening and midnight on Tuesday, another front is due to approach, bringing six to 15mm of rain to the Perth metro gauge on Wednesday, while up to 20mm is possible on Thursday.
"Thursday in particular we could see an increase in showery activity, falls could be a little heavier," Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Neil Bennett said.
"But definitely a change to winter conditions now with temperatures for the next four or five days hovering around the high teens, which is a complete change to two weeks ago when we were seeing temperatures in the high 20s.
"So winter has switched on, it came in almost on cue.
"It does look as if we're set in for a period of cooler weather over the next five to seven days."
Showers will continue over much of the state for the rest of the week, including the Pilbara which could see some heavy falls on Wednesday and Thursday.
Wild winds lash South West
Wild winds were felt along much of the west coast, including Bunbury where boats were lashed by rough seas, some becoming submerged in the water.
Others broke their moorings and smashed against breakwalls.
Along with the Gascoyne, which received record-breaking rainfall on Monday and Tuesday, the South West also got some decent totals.
Bunbury received 33mm, while Busselton Airport got 37mm.
