A resident in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, uses heavy machinery to remove snow on Tuesday. A cold front brought heavy snow, mainly along the mountains, to the Kanto-Koshin region on the day. The city had 10 centimeters of snowfall as of 7 a.m., the Meteorological Agency said. Snow fell in central Tokyo in the early morning, too, but soon turned to rain.
