Winston Churchill's granddaughter has broken her silence over plans to replace his portrait on the £5 note.
The former war-time Prime Minister will be switched with an animal, the Bank of England said on Wednesday, 11 March, after more than 50 years of showcasing prominent Britons from history.
The central bank's move follows a consultation in which the wildlife theme received the highest proportion of votes, at 60 per cent.
Speaking on BBC Newsnight on Thursday, 12 March, Emma Soames said she was happy with the concept, rejecting Reform UK leader Nigel Farage's description of the change as "wokery".
