The saga surrounding Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion winger Kamil Grosicki has gone on for the last two transfer windows.
It looked as though the Poland international would be arriving at the City Ground last summer after a loan move was agreed with the Baggies.
The club, however, are said to have missed the deadline by just 21 seconds as they attempted to get the deal over the line.
Forest returned for the winger during the January transfer window, but West Brom boss Sam Allardyce confirmed that Grosicki turned down the chance to move to the City Ground.
He, therefore, stayed at the Hawthorns but has made just three appearances in the Premier League all season, with none coming after January.
The 32-year-old has even failed to make the matchday squad since January, playing for the U23s on a couple of occasions.
That lack of football has not helped the winger in his hope of representing his nation in the upcoming European Championships.
Paulo Sousa’s Poland squad was released earlier this week with Grosicki only making the reserve list for the nation. That means that he will have to rely on one of his international teammates picking up an injury before the start of the tournament.
The winger has a total of 83 caps for Poland with his latest coming in the World Cup qualifiers against Hungry, Andorra and England back in March.
Grosicki is out of contract with West Brom at the end of the season and is likely to be on the lookout for a new club.
It is unlikely Forest will make a third attempt for the player when the transfer window opens as Chris Hughton looks to add his stamp to the squad.
