Wing Woman hotline launched with Love Islanders Liberty Poole and Kaz Kamwi

Just Eat, sponsors of Love Island, is launching a Wing Women Hotline to help Brits navigate what promises to be a whirlwind summer of love. The food delivery app has enlisted the expertise of ex-islanders and best friends Liberty Poole and Kaz Kamwi to provide unfiltered, honest advice on tricky friendship and romantic dilemmas.

The advice service comes as new research shows that half (50%) of Brits find dating difficult, with one in four singletons (26%) confessing that they are wary of venturing into the dating scene.

It’s not just romances that are proving to be challenging, friendships can also be a minefield to navigate. Over half (53%)of Brits have experienced red flags in their friendships, with top complaints including being left out of plans, friends canceling at the last minute or only getting in touch when they need something.

After successfully tackling the 2021 villa themselves, Liberty and Kaz know better than anyone how to survive the twists and turns of spotting your type on paper, catching the feels, seeing heads turn and getting the ‘ick’. The pair cultivated a solid friendship in the midst of romantic bombshells and tests of loyalty, and came out of situations knowing their worth and feeling stronger than ever before.

To get the ultimate helping hand on your real life dating headaches and flagging friendships, email LoveIslandWingWomen@justeattakeaway.com. Liberty and Kaz will get together over a Just Eat meal and answer the toughest questions via their Instagram accounts.

SO WHAT’S MAKING BRITS WARY OF DATING?

Undeniably, the dating game has always come with a few hurdles, but the lack of human connection due to the pandemic has amplified hesitations. A quarter of daters are worried about getting ‘catfished’ - where you fall for someone online but all is not as it seems - while other concerns include awkwardness and a perceived lack of ability to flirt, showing that our social skills could do with brushing up.

It’s not just budding romances that are failing to blossom, friendships are also experiencing rocky patches.

TOP 10 FRIENDSHIP DILEMMAS REVEALED:

  1. Friends only coming to you when they want something
  2. Friends not prioritising quality time with you
  3. Friends canceling last minute
  4. Friend only calls when unhappy
  5. Friends that don’t make time for you
  6. Friends who arrange things without you
  7. Friends who don’t make you feel good about yourself
  8. Best friends who want to third wheel on your dates
  9. Friends who would rather spend time with their pets than you
  10. Friends who are too indecisive

Liberty comments: “We’ve all been in situations where we doubt ourselves or simply don’t know what to do. That’s why everyone needs a wing woman who’s got your back and wants the best for you. I learnt so much about myself in the villa and I’m proud of how I handled things. I hope my experience can help others in similar situations.’’

Kaz adds: ‘’Every relationship has issues at one point or another, and having a best friend to turn to is so important. I’m happy to be one of Just Eat’s Wing Women alongside my bestie Lib, to answer all relationship and friendship dilemmas, and hopefully help get relationships back on track.”

Matt Bushby from Just Eat, proud sponsors of Love Island adds: “The hurdles and challenges Love Island contestants go through as they search for love and form friendships in the villa, mirror many Brits’ experience of the highs and lows of relationships. By bringing together Kaz and Liberty for the Just Eat advice service, we hope to not only help the nation's relationships, but also provide fans with another way to get stuck into Love Island.”
