Tomato seed join the herbs on the sill
Two weeks in and my herb seeds have germinated and are on their way. Without the aid of heat pads or other gimmicks. The basil sprouted first, then the parsley and finally the coriander. The plastic lid's off now and I've pricked a few out, and although the parsley are looking a little stringy I'm very pleased.
Basil, parsley and coriander
Enthused I've started on some tomatoes. Opted for a rather gourmet selection: Brown Berry, Garden Peach, Bloody Butcher, Green Zebra and Yellow Pigmy. Knowledgeable gardeners will realise these aren't necessarily organic varieties, but the seed is left over from last year and they're destined for my back garden anyhow. Will I find growing these varieties trickier than the more usual Moneymaker etc?
