'Wincing through the TV': Inside Conor Benn's training camp as Chris Eubank Jr receives ominous warning

Conor Benn has cranked up the war of words ahead of his grudge match against Chris Eubank Jr.

A bout that is more than two-and-a-half years in the making finally comes to a head on Saturday night inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Initially scheduled to face off in October 2022, only for the match to be called off during fight week after Benn failed two voluntary drugs tests.

The cancellation only added to the bad blood that already existed between the pair and that escalated further back in February when Eubank slapped Benn with an egg during a heated face-off at a press conference.

The time for talking is almost over, though Benn believes Eubank has more to lose from the fight, stating: “Where does he go after getting his a** beaten by a welterweight?”

Speaking to BBC Sport from inside his training camp before the big fight, Benn has made a rather ominous prediction: “When I visualise the fight I see it being a one-sided beat down.

“I see it being so ferocious, so dangerous that people are wincing through the TV as I’m landing my shots.

“I can’t not see it any other way.

“Now I’m either really delusional or 100 thousands of people are incorrect. Not sure which one it is yet.”

This fight is being fought at the 160lbs middleweight limit, meaning Benn is moving up two weight divisions and whilst the natural size advantage would point to Eubank having the edge, Nigel Benn says his son has enjoyed a smooth transition.

“He has been sparring with world class fighters, he’s got a engine on him, you will see Benn said.
