Winchburgh Road in West Lothian closed overnight after car smashes into pylon

A road in West Lothian was closed overnight after a car smashed into a pylon.

Police were alerted to the crash involving a black Audi shortly after 11pm last night (9 April) at the junction of North Greendykes Road and Winchburgh Road.

The road was closed in both directions while police attended the scene and the damaged vehicle was recovered. 

Officials from the electricity board were also called to carry out checks.

The road remained closed until this morning (10 April) reopening at 6:20am.

The incident took place at the junction of North Greendykes Road and Winchburgh Road near Broxburn (Google Maps)

An ambulance attended the scene however it is understood that no one was seriously injured.
