Win a trip to The Famous Grouse distillery in Scotland

Quality, craftsmanship and exceptional taste are the founding principles on which The Famous Grouse whisky has been built. It is this obsession with making the highest quality whisky that has made The Famous Grouse the UK’s number one whisky – and the bestselling whisky in Scotland since 1980.

Founder Matthew Gloag set out to make the best whisky he could possibly make, creating The Grouse brand in 1896. It soon became so popular that it was re-named The Famous Grouse. Matthew set out to master the art of blending and this philosophy remains at the heart of The Famous Grouse today. One lucky reader will win the chance to visit to The Famous Grouse distillery and experience first hand the intricacies of the whisky making process and craft their very own blended whisky to take home.

The home of The Famous Grouse is based within Scotland’s oldest working distillery, Glenturret and the prize includes return transport to the value of £200 to Crieff, a market town between Perth and Kinross, via train and taxi. In Crieff, the winner will receive a tour of the distillery, including the unique blending experience. Set in a purpose built sample room, they will take part in a guided nosing and tasting session, including four premium Glenturret single malts, before their sensory skills are tested by a “malt challenge”. They will then be given tuition in the art of becoming a master blender, creating their own whisky before taking away 100ml of their unique blend and a certificate.

To make the visit even more unforgettable, the prize also includes an overnight stay, with dinner and breakfast, at Crieff Hydro, one of Scotland’s most popular leisure hotels. A 900-acre resort, Crieff Hydro offers its guests over 60 on-site activities, a Victorian spa and beautifully appointed bedrooms. The winner can enjoy fabulous views, daytime and evening entertainment and leisure facilities including a gym and swimming pool.

10 runners up will also win a personalised bottle of The Famous Grouse, made using the finest grains, pure Scottish water and carefully seasoned sherry and bourbon casks, to create a uniquely rich, rounded and sweet whisky.
