WIN a memorable year of visits to Knockhill

BOSSES at Scotland’s national motorsport centre – Knockhill – have unveiled a packed programme of events for 2022.

And to celebrate, they’ve teamed up with Road Record to give one racing fan the chance to win an amazing prize worth £350.

The winner will receive a Gold Season Ticket, giving them access to every event next year.

Over and above that, they will get the choice of either tuition in a Honda Civic Type R so they can learn to drive the circuit or, if they are a biker, the Niall Mackenzie track day experience.

Major highlights at the famous Fife venue include the Easter Day Hot Hatch Track Day and Easter Car Show on Sunday, April 17. It combines circuit action, show cars and entertainment for all, with family fun and egg rolling down the track’s Duffus Dip.

Fans of two-wheeled motorsport will be looking forward to the return of the British Superbike Championship, and associated support series, from June 17 to 19. Many Scots will want to be there to cheer on the reigning champion, Tarran Mackenzie – Niall’s son.

Just a few weeks later, the eagerly awaited McRae Rally Challenge will take place to celebrate the late Colin McRae’s historic World Rally Championship success back in 1995.

The two-day spectacular on July 2-3, will see a galaxy of rally legends, Group B rally cars, “Colin’s Cars” and various other special features.

Then the last two days of July will see the British Touring Car Championship visit alongside British F4, Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Ginettas and JCW MINIs contests.

It will mark 30 years since the BTCC first came to Knockhill and, of course, the circuit’s own three-time champion Gordon Shedden has enjoyed huge success in the series over the years.

This has been added to with race winning performances by local stars Rory Butcher and Aiden Moffat, ensuring the Saltire still flies high in the BTCC.

Another highlight of the year will be the September 10-11 meet of the Scottish Championship Bike Racing, featuring the 40th anniversary Jock Taylor Memorial Trophy race.

Other calendar moments include a host of Scottish Motor Racing Club dates, featuring a huge variety of exciting championships that really get fans buzzing.

Super Lap Scotland will also return in force with machines in a variety of classes trying to set the fastest times around the challenging circuit.

Numerous other events are taking place in between – go to www.knockhill.com to find out more.

The season will start on February 20 with the opening round of the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship and end on November 5 with live track action and fireworks.

Knockhill events director Stuart Gray said: “We’re lucky to be able to host a huge variety of motorsports contests and shows here, guaranteeing families and enthusiasts a great day out."
