Sydneysiders, it’s time to share your city.
Samsung is co-creating the story of Sydney to be aired on the iconic Sydney Harbour and they want you in the director’s chair.
In this first-of-its-kind comp, Samsung is showcasing 24 hours in Sydney made up of glimpses into the lives of Sydneysiders themselves. Rather than deferring to the usual tourist hotspots, they want you to film the moments that make your life (and your city) special. With the ultimate Samsung Galaxy Prize pack, including a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and The Frame QLED Smart TV up for grabs, it seems like a no-brainer.
Want in? All you need is 15 seconds, a Samsung Galaxy device and a dream.
How do I enter?
Firstly, ask yourself: Do I own a Galaxy phone? If the answer is yes, then please proceed.
To enter, film a moment from your day. The aim here is to capture the parts of Sydney that other people may not get to see, so scope out the magic only you get to experience and get your camera out.
When filming, hold your camera horizontally. You only need to capture a single shot or about 15 seconds of footage, so be sure to make it count.
From there, enter your info and upload your video and that’s it — you’re done! Entries are open now until June 11, so be sure to get cracking.
Anyone who enters will go into the draw to win a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds4, and The Frame QLED Smart TV, but that’s not the real prize. The real prize is where you’ll see your little part of Sydney played out.
Where will my footage go?
Once uploaded, your footage will be checked to make sure it’s Samsung-approved before finalists are selected.
If you’re selected, that means your 15-second clip will be included in this one-of-a-kind, collaborative film detailing a day in Sydney.
This film will premiere above Sydney Harbour during the iconic Vivid Sydney festival, while here at PEDESTRIAN.TV, we’ll even put together a best of, so our audience can enjoy every magical moment.
What sort of video do they want to see?
They want to see the beauty and reality of Sydney. You don’t need to go find some perfectly manicured moment; authenticity and individuality are the name of the game.
So, there are a couple of rules to follow to make sure whatever you film can be included and, more importantly, doesn’t end up on the cutting room floor.
- Show off your Sydney. It doesn’t matter where you film! It could be at your local, in the CBD or somewhere a bit far out and niche you like going to, just make sure it’s you who’s filming it. We don’t want an Euphoria -esque scandal in our midst (justice for Petra Collins ).
- Well, it goes without saying, but Samsung wants to see the city itself. This means no filming selfie-style — keep your phone turned outwards and show us the world around you.
- They don’t want to see a bunch of people who haven’t given permission to be filmed — no one’s looking to get sued here. If you’re filming someone or a group, be sure to get their consent and if you don’t have it, pick a different moment to immortalise.
- While your CapCut skills may be second to none, the raw file is all that’s needed. Leave all the fancy edit tricks at the door and let your life speak for itself.
- Once again, we want to see Sydney. It can be anywhere throughout the city but if you film the Colosseum and try to tell us it’s the Opera House, we’re going to have words.
Keep your content PG and Samsung only, while filming horizontally and as high-res as you can.
At the end, they’ll have a beautiful film capturing a day in video told from hundreds of different perspectives. So any sunrise or sunset, a quiet stroll or a dinner with friends could make up the perfect shot.
