Wimbledon fans ‘will get answers’ over stadium crisis

AFC Wimbledon and the Dons Trust have vowed to answer supporters’ question about the club’s stadium crisis after a group of them wrote an open letter about the situation.

It was revealed this week by Standard Sport the Dons need to make up an £11million shortfall to complete their move back to Plough Lane next season and finish construction of the proposed 9,000-seat venue.

The news has caused uncertainty among supporters and 43 of them grouped together to write an open letter to the club and Trust, who own 75 per cent of the League One side, asking for clarity.

The letter contained 50 questions and drew interest on social media, prompting the Dons to respond.

A statement from the club said: “The boards wish to be as open as we can with members regarding the current situation and the options open to us.

“We are therefore grateful to a number of supporters who have sent an open letter setting out a list of 50 questions that they would like to be answered.

“This is an excellent list of questions and we intend to answer them as fully as we reasonably can over the coming days, and ahead of the 9 December Dons Trust Special General Meeting.
