Wimbledon 2025 LIVE!
Novak Djokovic’s quest for an eighth Wimbledon title continues today, as he is set to face Australia’s Alex de Minaur for a place in the quarter-finals. After struggling through his first-round tie with Alexandre Muller last week, the Serb has cruised, easing past Dan Evans and his countryman Miomir Kecmanovic. That was perhaps the most straightforward outing of his campaign so far, as he dropped just seven games en route to a convincing straight-sets victory.
De Minaur, though, will pose rather more of a threat. The No11 seed has only dropped one set so far in the tournament, and could equal his best-ever effort in a major should he down Djokovic today. Hailing from Sydney, the 26-year-old will face Djokovic for the fourth time in his career and could claim a second win against him today.
It is the first match of the day on Wimbledon’s main court, and the conditions have cooled off considerably since last week. Can Djokovic work more magic on the SW19 lawns? Follow along below for LIVE updates from Dom Smith on Centre Court!

And when Djokovic leaves a volley he might have been expected to chase down, it’s 40-40.
It’s a crucial game for Djokovic, the world No6 knowing he must win this game if he’s to have any chance of winning this match in four sets. He does.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 4-1 Djokovic
16:29 , Dom SmithAt 15-15, it looks plausible that Djokovic might push hard and get his break back, but De Minaur grabs a couple of points when the seven-time champion goes long, and then he volleys when it ought to have let it bounce, handing De Minaur a relatively easy hold of serve.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 3-1 Djokovic
16:26 , Dom SmithDjokovic’s serve and crosscourt forehand combination is just too good and has the beating of De Minaur for 30-0 on serve.

De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 2-0 Djokovic
16:19 , Dom SmithDjokovic double faults and then points his racquet up to the sky. It was the sun, he argues. Not me...
Soon De Minaur is 0-30 up, and then has a hat-trick of break points when he comes up trumps on a cat-and-mouse point at the net.
Djokovic flicks the ball away in disgust as he is broken!
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 1-0 Djokovic
16:14 , Dom SmithAn appreciative applause from the crowd as De Minaur serves up an ace for 30-15 in the first game of the fourth set - a set he must win to avoid exiting Wimbledon this afternoon.
When Djokovic goes long, it’s 40-30 De Minaur. But Djokovic is hitting big now and forces the Serb to deuce.
And then a swing of the arm in frustration from De Minaur as he concedes a break point ... before a waggle of the racquet to celebrate the way he superbly saves it. Fine margins.
De Minaur holds firm, an important game to come through for the 26-year-old.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-6 Djokovic

With an ace, Djokovic serves out the game and we’re on terms at four each.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 4-3 Djokovic

Sensational winner from Djokovic by way of reply - a forehand which slams against the line.
De Minaur takes it when the Serb nets. On serve still.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 3-3 Djokovic
15:44 , Dom SmithDjokovic gets the better of a decent rally to work up a 40-0 lead on serve.
When a skewed De Minaur return on the subsequent point lands out, it’s game Djokovic. De Minaur serves next...
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 3-2 Djokovic
15:40 , Dom SmithCrashing shot from De Minaur, taking the game to Djokovic and forcing him to let out a loud yelp and fire into the net for 30-15.
Djokovic then has De Minaur running all over the place, but the 11th seed is up to the task and backhands in a winner. Djokovic nets again, and it’s a hold from De Minaur in what is, yes, proving a very tightly-contested third set.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 2-2 Djokovic
15:37 , Dom SmithConfident serving from Djokovic as he holds serve again, taking the game with a convincing ace down the T, De Minaur just watching it fly past.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 2-1 Djokovic
15:33 , Dom SmithDjokovic is livid with himself for returning a serve into the tramlines, but it’s about to get worse in this game as De Minaur bypasses him with a tremendous winner, before lasting longest on the subsequent outstanding rally, clipping a winner past Djokovic to hold to love.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-1 Djokovic
15:29 , Dom SmithDjokovic starts his service game off with a sensational line winner that De Minaur can get nowhere near to. Then a powerful second serve.
But De Minaur gets into the game from there and even has a break point, which is saved by an almighty serve from Djokovic.
The net cord helps him out to gain advantage. He gets the game won to level up in a third set that you just feel could prove very cagey indeed.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 1-0 Djokovic
15:21 , Dom SmithA double fault from De Minaur arrives at an untimely moment and gives Djokovic the gift of a break point in the opening game of the third set.
He forces Djokovic to volley up into into the air, though, before slapping down the resultant volley for deuce.
De Minaur holds, and Djokovic is looking absolutely shattered, his body language no longer as positive as it was in the second half of that second set.
De Minaur 6-1 4-6 Djokovic
15:12 , Dom SmithAn absolutely inexplicable net approach miss from Djokovic throws up 0-30 on his own serve. Truly a bizarre shot not to have been able to make.
But before you know it, the 24-time Grand Slam champion has pummelled down an unreturned serve and is back to 30-30.
De Minaur has one break point to level for 5-5 but can’t take advantage, and yet another soon arrives when Djokovic produces another unforced error.
Djokovic saves that one too, calls on the crowd to cheer him on, gets lucky with a line call as De Minaur misses, and with an unreturned serve seals the set and ROARS in celebration.
De Minaur 6-1 4-5 Djokovic
15:03 , Dom SmithSTUNNING point from De Minaur, who is almost caught out crosscourt by Djokovic, before taking it on, off balance, full on, and hitting a piercing winner crosscourt which the seven-time Wimbledon champion can get his racquet on but can’t return.
Another powerful winner makes it 30-15. De Minaur has enough to get it down, staying in the set. But he must receive from the Djokovic serve next.
De Minaur 6-1 3-5 Djokovic
14:59 , Dom SmithA strong serve from Djokovic is not returned by De Minaur and gives him two chances to close the game out for 5-3, at 40-15 up.
An ace will do nicely for the Serb, the chalk flying up as he fires with venom down the the T.
De Minaur 6-1 3-4 Djokovic
14:55 , Dom SmithA long rally ensues at 0-15 which De Minaur appears to have the edge in, until his attempted winner, which hits the net at makes it 0-30 Djokovic.

Deuce.

De Minaur 6-1 2-3 Djokovic
14:44 , Dom SmithDe Minaur just as comfortable on serve - at last - taking it to love just as Djokovic did prior.
Three games to two, Djokovic, but the Serb is a break up in this second set and serves next.
De Minaur 6-1 1-3 Djokovic

De Minaur 6-1 1-2 Djokovic
14:39 , Dom SmithA poor return from De Minaur lands beyond the baseline and brings up 15-30, but then Djokovic mis-hits a forehand and it’s 30-30.
Forehand overhit by De Minaur. 30-40. Break point! And it’s taken after an extraordinary, long, well-won point. Djokovic back in the ascendency.
De Minaur 6-1 1-1 Djokovic
14:33 , Dom SmithA long rally of slices ends with Djokovic switching it up - producing a forehand - but failing to clear the net. That makes it 30-30, with De Minaur hunting an immediate break back.
De Minaur’s line backhand is out, JUST, and Djokovic is a point away from consolidating his break - but he can’t manage to. Deuce.
Another break point comes and goes, and it turns into a bit of a marathon game, with neither player able to get over the line in what feels a crucial game for the course of the match - UNTIL De Minaur hit a fine winner and gets it won!
De Minaur 6-1 0-1 Djokovic

Djokovic gets some luck from a net cord, and he breaks De Minaur in the second set’s opening game!
De Minaur 6-1 Djokovic
14:08 , Dom SmithWhen Djokovic hits a simple-enough forehand into the net, it brings up 0-30 on his serve and De Minaur knows he might be able to seal a one-sided first set with a triple break.
And then 0-30, but De Minaur misses his first set point by netting.
But when Djokovic does the same, that IS the set. De Minaur, six games to one!
De Minaur 5-1 Djokovic
14:05 , Dom SmithAnd just like that De Minaur is five games to one up in this opening set, winning the decisive point by slamming down a winner from a Djokovic high ball.
De Minaur 4-1 Djokovic
14:00 , Dom SmithInto the net again from Djokovic, who is playing rather sub-par tennis for his own lofty standards right now. And just as I type those words, he produces another double fault to go 0-30 down on serve again.
De Minaur aggressively attacks the next point, thundering a forehand winner past Djokovic for 0-40. THREE break points.
Ace Djokovic.
And with another double fault, it’s another break! What’s going on here?!
De Minaur 3-1 Djokovic
13:56 , Dom SmithDjokovic is struggling to find the court at the moment and by going long and then clipping the net it’s 40-0 De Minaur and nearly another comfortable hold for the world No11.
Sure enough, Djokovic goes long again and it’s three games to one.
De Minaur 2-1 Djokovic
13:53 , Dom SmithDjokovic is 40-0 up and cruising on serve when he nets a backhand return to give De Minaur a glimmer of hope.
But his flicked backhand is then left by the Aussie who thinks it’s headed out. It’s not. Lovely line winner; game.
De Minaur 2-0 Djokovic
13:50 , Dom SmithA very tight call sees De Minaur’s attempted winner land JUST out and Djokovic is 0-30 up.
He then tries to lob the Aussie, but De Minaur is braced and slams down a winner for 15-30.
The game has swung back in De Minaur’s favour, as Djokovic, off balance, slices long for 40-30. But a deft slice from Djokovic takes it to deuce.
It’s a long deuce, but De Minaur gets it won and consolidates his break of serve.
De Minaur 1-0 Djokovic
13:42 , Dom SmithA very strange one, as the very first point of the match is a double fault by Novak Djokovic.
The second, naturally, is an ace.
Djokovic wins a nice long rally to get himself to 30-30, but then double-faults again for break point. And by going long, he is broken in the very first game of the match!
Underway
13:37 , Dom SmithWe are underway on Centre Court between De Minaur and Djokovic, battling it out for a place in the last eight.
Warm-up underway
13:32 , Dom SmithThe warm-up begins...
Here come the players!
13:30 , Dom SmithDjokovic and De Minaur make their way onto Centre Court here, where they’re welcomed with a hugely warm reception from the crowd.
Standard Sport prediction
13:14 , Dom SmithDjokovic has dropped only one set so far, in the first round against France’s Alexandre Muller.
But De Minaur is a feisty competitor and the 11th seed. He could cause problems. Perhaps not enough problems to win the match and progress to the quarter-finals, but enough at least to get a set under his belt.
Standard Sport prediction: Djokovic to win, in four sets.
Centre Court filling up nicely
13:08The spectators are slowly making their way to their seats ahead of the first match of the day. We know one guest who will be in attendance: Roger Federer.
I saw him entering via the VIP entrance when I was making my way in this morning. If they aren’t sure who to make the next James Bond, they should consider Roger. The shades made Cole Palmer seem lukewarm.

Head to head (H2H) record
12:58 , Dom SmithThis is surprisingly only the fifth time Djokovic and De Minaur have faced each other at Tour level.
Djokovic has won two of the previous contests to De Minaur’s one, and there was also a walkover.
There were three quarter-final meetings between the pair in 2024, including at Wimbledon. Now comes the first meeting in 2025.
De Minaur's route
12:47 , Arthur FerridgeShould De Minaur beat Djokovic today, he would equal his best-ever performance in a major.
Similar to the Serb, he has only dropped one set thus far in the tournament.
He downed Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena in straight sets in round one. He dropped his first set in the second round against Arthur Cazaux, but romped back to win in four.
August Holmgren went down in short order in a third-round tie on Saturday.
Djokovic's route
12:42 , Arthur FerridgeDjokovic has, unsurprisingly, been at his best through this tournament.
He required four sets to get past Alexandre Muller in his Wimbledon opener, complaining of stomach problems after the fact, but has not dropped a set since, beating Dan Evans and fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic.
