Wimbledon 2025 LIVE: Cameron Norrie vs Carlos Alcaraz latest score and match updates

Head to head: Cameron Norrie faces Carlos Alcaraz for a place in the semi-finals at Wimbledon - (Getty Images/PA)

Wimbledon 2025 LIVE!

The quarter-final action is underway at Wimbledon, where Cameron Norrie faces Carlos Alcaraz in the standout tie on Centre Court on Tuesday. A huge challenge lies ahead for Norrie, who is the last Brit standing at the All England Club for 2025 after his thrilling and feisty five-set win over Nicolas Jarry on Sunday followed Sonay Kartal’s defeat by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

The world No61 is looking to match his best-ever run at Wimbledon, when he reached the semi-finals in 2022 as the ninth seed before losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in four sets. The resurgent Norrie has also seen off Roberto Bautista Agut, Frances Tiafoe and Mattia Bellucci during another memorable spell at SW19, but faces an altogether tougher assignment against Alcaraz.

The Spaniard is looking to become the first player to win three consecutive titles at Wimbledon since Roger Federer, having seen off Djokovic in the final in back-to-back years and bounced back from dropping the first set to beat Andrey Rublev at the weekend, following victories over Fabio Fognini, Oliver Tarvet and Jan-Lennard Struff. Follow Norrie vs Alcaraz live below, with game-by-game updates from Standard Sport’s Dom Smith on Centre Court.

GAME, SET AND MATCH ALCARAZ -- Norrie 2-6 3-6 3-6 Alcaraz

18:50 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz is serving for the match and begins by claiming the first point, forcing Norrie to go long. Then an inexplicable miss follows from Alcaraz, a net approach he somehow fluffs up.

And then comes a double fault, Alcaraz feeling the pressure all of a sudden! Hint of a break back for Norrie here?

Perhaps not. An ace gets the defending champion back to 30-30, and a volleyed winner earns him another match point.

With an unreturned serve, he takes the game, the set and the match. Alcaraz is into the semi-finals once more.

Norrie 2-6 3-5 Alcaraz

18:46 , Dom Smith

Norrie gets a loud cheer of geeing-up support as he loses the first point and then the second while serving the stay in the match and in Wimbledon.

And the noise returns when he gets a foothold in this game by Alcaraz netting on approach. Then a sensational point from Norrie, taking the game to Alcaraz at a time when he absolutely must.

Then Norrie nets, and you know what that means: match point Alcaraz. Saved by Norrie!

Advantage Norrie. Alcaraz’s drop shot has Norrie STRANDED at the back of the court, but lands OUT as it hits the net. He holds!

Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-5 Alcaraz

18:40 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz is in imperious form here and cannons down an ace which lands on the line and brings up 40-0 on his serve. This game for a 5-2 lead.

He can’t take the first opportunity, netting on forehand, but he takes the second with a blistering serve. He’s just a game away from the semi-finals now.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-4 Alcaraz

18:37 , Dom Smith

Norrie can only find the net with a simple backhand slice, bringing up 0-30 on his own serve.

He can’t escape the jeopardy, though, as a forehand stroke goes long and it’s 0-40.

15-40 when he hits an unreturned serve onto the line.

But he’s broken once more, for the first time in this third set, when he goes long again. It is hard to see how Alcaraz doesn’t comfortably see out a straight-sets victory from here. Let’s see...

Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-3 Alcaraz

18:33 , Dom Smith

Smart net approach from Alcaraz, who volleys down into the ground and away for a 40-0 lead on serve.

It’s a game the crowd fancied Norrie might break on after his stylish hold last time out, but nope. Alcaraz holds to love. Nerveless.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-2 Alcaraz

18:31 , Dom Smith

That was probably the finest point of the entire match, and it came not from Alcaraz but from Norrie - a drop shot which danced JUST over the net and curled away into the corner, past Alcaraz. No wonder the Briton called on the Centre Court crowd to raise the volume levels after that.

With a missed drop shot from Alcaraz, Norrie holds serve and gains an almighty roar from the crowd once more. Level at two games all in the third.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 1-2 Alcaraz

18:28 , Dom Smith

Double fault Alcaraz, but he recovers to earn a 30-15 lead with an unreturned serve.

You can tell he wants this match over and done with ASAP as he waits at the net and volleys back from Norrie’s return, prompting an applaud of appreciation from the Brit. Good sportspersonship from Norrie in the circumstances.

Alcaraz holds serve yet again.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 1-1 Alcaraz

18:25 , Dom Smith

Norrie nets for 15-15 on serve, then edges ahead 30-15 when a strange choice of shot from Alcaraz lands in the tramlines.

At 40-15, Norrie produces a double fault for 40-30, but his next serve sends Alcaraz deep beyond the baseline and the Spanish player misses. Game.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 0-1 Alcaraz

18:22 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz winds up a forehand winner and although Norrie returns it, he returns it into the net. 30-15.

At 40-15, he angles in an ace across the body of Norrie. It looks perilous for the Brit, really. Two sets down already and with the world No2 showing no signs of slowing down.

GAME AND SECOND SET ALCARAZ -- Norrie 2-6 3-6 Alcaraz

18:19 , Dom Smith

Norrie goes 15-30 down on serve in a game he knows he must win, as another superb drop shot has the beating of the British No3.

Then comes an excellent point from Norrie which has him punching the air after Alcaraz nets. It was one long rally that, and the 29-year-old comes out on top.

But Alcaraz has a set point here at 30-40, and takes it as Norrie nets under no pressure. It’s two sets to love Alcaraz!

Norrie 2-6 3-5 Alcaraz

18:15 , Dom Smith

Glimmer of hope of a break back for Norrie as Alcaraz goes long and brings the Brit ahead 15-30.

But Alcaraz is not going away and confirms another hold of serve with a delicate drop shot at the net.

Norrie 2-6 3-4 Alcaraz

18:10 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz tries an almighty forehand winner but it lands just beyond the baseline and Norrie is 40-0 up and well on the way to an important hold of serve.

One slapped winner later and it’s 40-15, Alcaraz too fierce for Norrie in that last point.

With an ace, he holds.

Norrie 2-6 2-4 Alcaraz

18:07 , Dom Smith

Frustration from Norrie as he fails to catch a return of serve with good contact on the racquet and it lands out for 30-15.

Alcaraz then has Norrie running the length of the baseline but ultimately firing into the tramlines. 40-15.

Norrie shows his mettle, though, taking the game to deuce.

A spot of luck for Norrie as he gets break point after Alcaraz nets. Can he take it?

No. Ace. And Alcaraz makes sure of the hold.

Norrie 2-6 2-3 Alcaraz

18:00 , Dom Smith

Norrie comes out and tries to take it to Alcaraz in the opening few points of the game. With the first, the Spaniard takes it instead, but the Norrie produces a fantastic flick at the net for 15-15.

Norrie gets over the line and holds firm. 3-2 down and a break down in this second set.

Norrie 2-6 1-3 Alcaraz

17:58 , Dom Smith

Things are not going Norrie’s way right now, encapsulated by the fact the journalist next to me just whispered: “This might get messy.” Hopefully not, for Norrie’s sake. But yes, it might well, if Alcaraz keeps this level up.

Alcaraz moves to a 40-0 lead on serve, and confirms a hold to love when Norrie’s double-handed backhand goes way long.

Norrie 2-6 1-2 Alcaraz

17:55 , Dom Smith

There’s a look of resignation on the face of Norrie as he is beaten by another deft drop shot from Alcaraz. 15-30 to the Spaniard against serve.

And another loud call of “COME ON” from Norrie as he moves 40-30 ahead, only to miss into the tramlines and it’s deuce.

Advantage Alcaraz; break point. Then another. And another.

Fitting that a drop shot should do it for Alcaraz. He’s broken Norrie again.

Norrie 2-6 1-1 Alcaraz

17:48 , Dom Smith

A couple of missed returns from Norrie give Alcaraz a 30-0 lead, until he nets with an unforced error.

To good effect, Alcaraz darts into a dropping Norrie ball and volleys it away at the net for the game.

Norrie 2-6 1-0 Alcaraz

17:44 , Dom Smith

There is just no stopping Alcaraz at the moment. He is in the best form he’s shown this Wimbledon so far.

But Norrie is desperate not to be broken in the second set’s opening game and moves to advantage on deuce. There’s a huge roar from the crowd as the Brit holds.

GAME AND FIRST SET ALCARAZ -- Norrie 2-6 Alcaraz

17:39 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz starts his service game as he means to go on, drop-shotting past Norrie for 15-0.

But Norrie is back with a bang, hammering a winner off Alcaraz’s second serve and clenching fists in celebration. Then an ace. Ah, never mind Cam, he’s good, this lad.

40-15 after a winner bringing up set point after 28 minutes. And it’s taken with a nonchalant drop shot. That’s some style he’s showing.

Norrie 2-5 Alcaraz

17:35 , Dom Smith

A shout of “come on” from Cam Norrie as he goes 30-15 ahead on serve. Then 40-15 as Alcaraz fails to land his shot on the court.

Norrie manages to hold, staying in this first set.

Norrie 1-5 Alcaraz

17:33 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz is into the groove and in the mood here. With an ace he serves up a 40-0 lead on serve, and with an unmet winner down the line it’s game. 5-1. The first set is within touching distance.

Norrie 1-4 Alcaraz

17:30 , Dom Smith

Really excellent point from Norrie, who is deep at the baseline and senses his moment when Alcaraz approaches the net, firing a forehand winner past him.

But the 22-year-old wants a double break here and has every chance of getting it at 15-40 ahead.

And Alcaraz does manage to break with a spellbinding winner which flies up and over the advanced Norrie at pace and lands on the line, to the awe of those in Centre Court. It’s 4-1 and Alcaraz serves next. Not a good start (scoreline-wise) for Norrie...

Norrie 1-3 Alcaraz

17:27 , Dom Smith

Which player is serving seems to matter very little at the moment in this rather strange opening set, and Alcaraz has to pull off a show-stopping winner to escape from 0-30 down. An ace gets him back level. Fair enough.

With his fourth successive point, Alcaraz holds.

Norrie 1-2 Alcaraz

17:23 , Dom Smith

Norrie faces two breaks points on HIS serve now, and saves the first with a stunning ace down the T.

BUT the Brit produces the most untimely of double faults and is broken for a 2-1 Alcaraz lead. How quickly things have changed for the British No3.

Norrie 1-1 Alcaraz

17:19 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz is facing a bit of jeopardy at 0-30 down in his first service game, and then Norrie hits an almighty forehand which lands on the line for 0-40. A fine, fine winner.

Alcaraz stays in the game with an unreturned first serve, and saves the second break point with a backhand volley putaway at the net. The third is saved too!

Norrie does earn himself advantage at deuce, though, but wastes it by netting under no real pressure.

Alcaraz holds! That’s a relief for the Spaniard, but encouraging for Norrie.

Norrie 1-0 Alcaraz

17:12 , Dom Smith

Alcaraz goes 30-15 up on Norrie’s serve in the first game of the match as the Brit hits long after an excellent forehand from the Spaniard, but it’s 30-30 when Alcaraz himself hits too far.

Norries escapes the service game but Alcaraz is playing well already and that may be an ominous sign.

Underway

17:10 , Dom Smith

The match begins on Centre Court, where Cam Norrie is serving first.

Standard Sport prediction

17:04 , Dom Smith

Carlos Alcaraz has seemed to struggle with a few of his matches en route to this quarter-final stage, but then it hasn’t been plain-sailing for Cameron Norrie either, and his match against Nicholas Jarry must have taken a bit out of him.

Standard Sport prediction: Carlos Alcaraz to win, in five sets

Head to head record

16:52 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Cameron Norrie has defeated Carlos Alcaraz before. Twice, even!

However, the Spaniard has the advantage having won four of their six meetings.
