British number one Jack Draper has been handed a nightmare draw at Wimbledon.
Draper arrives at SW19 as the fourth seed and one of the favourites for the title, but if he is to enjoy a deep run at Wimbledon for the first time in his career he is going to have to do it the hard way.
The 23-year-old will face Sebastian Baez in the opening round, in a match he will be expected to comfortably come through, but from there it will be a major test.
Placed in the top-half of the draw, Draper is projected to face Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals, and would then potentially have to beat world number Jannik Sinner if he is to reach the final.
However, making it to the last-eight will be a challenge. Draper could play former Wimbledon finalist Marin Cilic in the second round, with Alexander Bublik likely to be waiting for him in round three.
Bublik knocked Draper out of the French Open last month and has since backed that up by winning the title in Halle in the build-up to Wimbledon.
Sinner’s campaign gets underway against compatriot Luca Nardi, while defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will kick the action off on Centre Court on Monday against Fabio Fognini.
A second-round match against Alcaraz could be on offer for world number 719 Oliver Tarvet if the British qualifier can get past Leandro Riedi in the first round.
Seven-time champion Djokovic begins his bid to match Roger Federer’s record against Alexandre Muller.
Dan Evans will take on fellow Briton Jay Clarke in the opening round, and reward for the winner is likely to be a second-round showdown with Djokovic.
Jacob Fearnley, who has enjoyed a sensational rise up the rankings over the past 18 months, faces the exciting 18-year-old Joao Fonseca in round one.
British No3 Cameron Norrie has been drawn against Roberto Bautista Agut, with 12th seed Frances Tiafoe a potential second-round opponent.
