Wimbledon 2019: Play suspended and stands cleared after 60-year-old woman collapses at tennis tournament

A 60-year-old woman collapsed at Wimbledon prompting play to be suspended and stands cleared at Court 12.

A steward said the 60-year-old had to be resuscitated with a defibrillator.

The crowd was asked to evacuate the court so paramedics could reach her.

She has since been taken to hospital.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club said: "A 60-year-old female collapsed while watching tennis on Court 12.

"She received immediate medical attention and was successfully resuscitated before being transported to a local hospital.

"Play was suspended and the court evacuated to give appropriate space for treatment."

Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff's match against Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin was halted in the fourth set due to the incident.
