Wimbledon 2019: Former finalist Kevin Anderson knocked out in third round by Guido Pella

Kevin Anderson, the 2018 men's runner-up, was knocked out of the third round of Wimbledon after losing in straight sets to Guido Pella.

The world No 8 and fourth seed was beaten 6-4 6-3 7-6 in two hours and 33 minutes by the Argentine.

His defeat means that apart from Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, only eighth seed Kei Nishikori remains in the draw from the top 10.

The big-serving South African, who skipped the clay court season to recover from an elbow injury, never found his rhythm and was broken three times by Pella, who controlled most of the points in the first two sets on Centre Court.

Pella will meet Milos Raonic in the last 16.
