Wimbledon 2019: Cori Gauff stuns the sporting world as 15-year-old sensation completes remarkable comeback

Fifteen-year-old Cori Gauff is through to the fourth round of Wimbledon after completing a remarkable comeback in her match against Polona Hercog.

The fairytale continues for the US teenage tennis sensation in the women's singles tournament after coming back from the dead to defy her opponent on Centre Court.

Gauff has already beaten Venus Williams, found herself a set down after succumbing 6-3 in the opening set.

It looked one of the great storylines in sport at the moment might be over when she found herself 5-2 down in the second before valiantly fighting back to force a tie-break.

With SW19 behind her, Gauff saved two match points to win the tie-break 9-7, setting up a deciding set.

The American got the crucial break in the final set and went 4-1 up, though Hercog battled back hard as the match went on late into the evening.

After three hours on court, a mis-placed lob from the Slovenian on match point saw Gauff win the final set 7-5 as the crowd erupted.

Gauff will face seventh seed Simona Halep in the next round, where she'll write the next chapter of this remarkable story.
