Wimbledon 2018 final LIVE: Novak Djokovic beats Kevin Anderson to win fourth title - latest reaction from All England Club

Novak Djokovic has won his fourth Wimbledon title today after he beat Kevin Anderson in the men’s singles final.

Both finalists played record-breaking, energy-sapping five-set semi-finals to reach the tournament's finale. But Anderson's six-hour-36-minute duel with John Isner at least finished on the day it started on Friday.

Djokovic's thriller against long-time rival Rafael Nadal lasted a mere five hours 15 minutes, but only three sets of that could be completed before the Wimbledon curfew at 11 pm on Friday, and the pair had to come back on Saturday to finish off before the women's final.

But the Serb had enough in the tank to see off the South African in three sets.

"It feels amazing because for the first time in my life I have someone screaming 'daddy, daddy.' He's under five and we were hoping that if this happens, if I hold the trophy, he can be here to witness it. I'm very emotional for him being there. He was by far the best partner I've has in the last couple of weeks.

"Kevin deserves it. He's had an incredible run, he's had quite a few hours. Today, being on his first Wimbledon final, he didn't play his best for two sets, third he was the better player and I was quite lucky.

"It's easy to talk now, I had to really trust the process, I had to trust in myself and I think I owe a great, great thanks to my team. To everyone who has been supporting me, the last couple of years has not been that easy. I was absent from the tour for six months, I didn't know what was expected. I had many moments of doubt and didn't know if i could come back. There is no better place to make a comeback, this is a sacred place for tennis.

"The grass tasted really well, I had a double portion this year to treat myself, its truly something different playing in a grand slam final. I've had a privilege to be part of this final five times, I've won four times and I'm really proud of it."

"First two set were pretty bad, the whole time I just tried my best and worked hard. I came within a point or two to push it to a fourth set. To play against Novak, he's a true champion of this sport and great credit to him.

"I'm not feeling as fresh now, this is such an amazing tournament and we dedicate our whole lives to being on this court. I would have given another 21 hours to play out here.

"There's too many people to thank. There was so many people who flew out from the whole world, I want to thank my family and my beautiful wife who is up there, my mum is right next to her, my brother is somewhere in the stands, and my dad who coached me, thank you very much.

"I'm very confident I can give myself another opportunity. The support I've had throughout has been incredible."

"South Africa has had a long history of tennis, not so much in the last years, but hopefully in 20 years someone might be here with that trophy."
