Milos Raonic has reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for the second time in his career after beating Sam Querrey 6-4, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.
The sixth-seeded Canadian, who has added John McEnroe to his coaching team this year, previously reached the semi-finals in 2014, losing to Roger Federer in straight sets.
Querrey defeated Novak Djokovic in the third round, becoming the first American to beat a top-ranked player at Wimbledon since Kevin Curren beat McEnroe in the 1985 quarter-finals.
Raonic, who will play either Federer or Marin Cilic in the semi-finals on Friday, said afterwards: “It’s a well deserved win for me, to have another shot in a semi-final. It’s exciting and it’s also humbling at the same time.
“[McEnroe] has added a little bit of demeanour change on the court, maybe helping me be a bit more positive and getting more energy out of me. And obviously I volleyed great today so he’s helped out with that.”
