Wilton Speight's brother commits to Michigan as walk-on lineman

Michigan will be getting another Speight.

U-M quarterback Wilton Speight's younger brother, Jess, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman, committed to the Wolverines as a preferred walk-on in the class of 2017, according to multiple sites, including 247Wolverine's Steve Lorenz.

The younger Speight, who attends the Collegiate School in Richmond, Va., tweeted the news Thursday night.

He reportedly had scholarship offers from FCS schools such as James Madison and Richmond.

Wilton Speight started the first 10 games this season for the Wolverines but then suffered an injury Nov. 12 at Iowa. He missed last week's 20-10 win over Indiana but has practiced this week, leading up to Saturday's game at Ohio State.

U-M coach Jim Harbaugh has not said whether Wilton Speight will play in the game.
