
A second suspect has been taken into custody after a high-speed chase through the south suburbs that ended in a crash and a manhunt in Wilmington.
The Wilmington Police Department posted an alert on its Facebook page about 6 a.m. Wednesday, saying officers were conducting a manhunt in the Northcrest area of the southwest suburb.

The manhunt began after two people stole a vehicle at gunpoint and led multiple police agencies on a high-speed chase through the south suburbs before ending in a crash in Wilmington, Wilmington Police Chief Philip Arnold said at a press conference.
One person was arrested after he broke into a home in Wilmington, Arnold said. The homeowner fired shots at that person, driving him away until police apprehended him.
The second suspect was in custody shortly after 10 a.m., police said.
