The original Augustus Gloop from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory appeared on This Morning on Tuesday, 50 years on from the film being released.
Michael Bollner, 62, is now a tax lawyer, and looks unrecognisable from his days in the much-loved film starring the late Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka.
He told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby he had no idea what a classic the film, based on the Roald Dahl book, would end up becoming.
Phil asked: "You were such a young boy at the time, did you realise what a big deal this was going to be?"
Michael replied: "No, not at all, I just went down to make this movie, stayed there for a few weeks and I didn't really know what was going on, I thought this is just a movie and it will fade away very quickly."
Phil remarked: "And here we are 50 years later still talking about it!
"You're a tax lawyer now, in Germany, but back to those says, you say you wished you could have got closer to it but because you were young, your English wasn't good enough to get close to Gene Wilder?" he asked.
"Yes, Gene Wilder was very nice to me and tried to have some conversation with me, but it was very limited," explained Michael.
Speaking about the infamous scene where Augustus falls into the river of chocolate, Michael said: "It was cold water old water, terrible stinking water, it had been there for weeks and it was very shallow, just 10cm deep.
"There was a small space of about a square metre where I had to jump in, it was dangerous because the water was not clear."
He also revealed he loves attending fan conventions as it is such a change from his usual day job.
"Yes it's really fun," he said.
"It's a kind of strange, different world for me, i am usually doing taxes, but having fans and being famous in the UK and USA it's really great, fantastic."
Phil laughed: "You still sound exactly like him!"
And actor Rusty Goffe, 72, who played an Oompa Loompa, also appeared on the show where he talked about the day he got the call to say he had the job without even auditioning.
"I felt amazed, it was my first ever movie, I got a phone call from my friends and they said, 'We are going to Germany to do this film'," he said.
"They said, 'There is no audition, you've got the job'.
"Because there weren't many little people in this country that can act, and in fact there were only five or six of us," he explained.
Rusty also revealed he did 76 cartwheels while filming the Oompa Loompa dance routine because if any of the actors messed it up they had to reshoot the whole thing.
