Willie Collum handed Celtic and Rangers clash as officials confirmed for Parkhead showdown

Willie Collum will be the man in the middle when Rangers visit Celtic later this month for the third derby game of the season, his first time refereeing the fixture in over two years.

The Premiership title has already been sealed with Steven Gerrard's side champions with six games to spare.

There will be plenty to play for at Parkhead though as the visitors look to maintain their unbeaten record and Celtic aim to claw back some pride after a disastrous campaign.

There are doubts over whether the match will even go ahead, with both teams locked in talks with the Scottish Government on Friday.

After their title success was officially confirmed hundreds of Rangers fans took to the streets in defiance of Covid regulations, sparking a furious response from First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

The SFA is clearly expecting the game to go ahead as planned though, with the governing body confirming the officiating team for the fixture.

Collum will be the man in the middle for the fixture, with Frank Connor and Sean Carr as his assistants.

Kevin Clancy has been appointed as the fourth official for the match.

Collum hasn't taken charge of this fixture since the 2019 Betfred Cup final where Celtic emerged with a 1-0 win.

There was controversy then as Christopher Jullien's winner appeared to be offside.
