Willie Collum given his first Rangers game in more than SIX months

Referee Willie Collum has been handed his first Rangers game for more than six months.

He will be the man in the middle for the final clash of the season when Steven Gerrard’s side travel to Ayrshire to face Steve Clarke’s Europa League-chasing Kilmarnock .

Collum hadn’t refereed a match involving Rangers since bizarrely sending off Daniel Candeias against St Mirren on November 3, a decision that sparked a furious reaction from the Ibrox side.

The Glasgow giants issued a stinging statement that alleged there were "underlying issues" with the whistler’s performance.

The Rugby Park encounter will be just his third match involving Rangers this season, with Celtic’s Old Firm win in September his first.

In the last campaign, there was never more than a run of three top-flight fixtures throughout the entire campaign where Collum and Rangers weren't paired.

Now he will meet the club he angered again on Sunday when Killie bid to qualify for Europe by finishing third in the league.

Collum has also been handed the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Hearts.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Craig Thomson takes charge of Celtic’s trophy day against Hearts, while Euan Anderson is the man in the middle for Hibs v Aberdeen.
