Willian has reportedly undergone a medical at Arsenal ahead of his impending free transfer.
The forward announced on Sunday he was leaving Chelsea after seven years at the club.
He snubbed a final contract offer to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea refused to meet his demands for a deal lasting three years.
Arsenal have moved quickly in response after learning that Willian's preference was to remain in London, and are now poised to land the 32-year-old.
According to the Evening Standard , Willian has already completed his medical at Arsenal ahead of signing a three-year deal worth £150,000 per week, with the option for a fourth year.
The Brazilian even held a video chat with Arsenal defender and ex-Chelsea teammate David Luiz on Sunday - the same day he called time on his career in West London.
Luiz even hinted Willian would be joining him across the capital soon, by captioning a image he posted on Instagram as: "Always together".
Arsenal have fought off interest from Inter Milan, Barcelona and Inter Miami to make Willian what will be their first signing of the summer window.
Willian still had time to reflect on his time at Chelsea despite reportedly being dismayed at the lack of desire from the club to keep him.
In an open letter to fans on his own social media accounts, Willian wrote: "The time has now come to move on. I am certainly going to miss my team-mates. I will miss all the staff at the club who’ve always treated me like a son and I will miss the fans.
“I leave with my head held high, safe in the knowledge that I won things here and always did my best in a Chelsea shirt. My heartfelt thanks go out to all of you and God bless you.”
