Willian transfer hint could be bad news for Liverpool amid reports of talks

Chelsea star Willian may have dropped a hint at where his future lies after his side's win over Everton last month.

The Brazilian will be a free agent on July 1 after he failed to agree a new deal with the Stamford Bridge club.

Previously Barcelona have been linked with a move for Willian, who has been allowed to speak to other clubs since January due to his contract situation.

However, reports from Spain claimed the Brazil international was in talks with Liverpool over a move.

But football.london understands that Willian has not held any discussions with the Premier League club despite reports in Spain suggesting so.

He was granted permission to return to Brazil at the start of lockdown to be with his family and taking a look back at what he said in March perhaps offers indication at where his future lies.

“We really like London, I have said it many times,” he told ESPN Brasil after his side’s 4-0 win over Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

“It is a city where my family and I love to live.

"I don't know why she [his wife] published this post, but the contract situation really isn't easy.

“Chelsea offered me two years, I asked for three years and everything stopped there.”
