Willian starting to show true colours at Arsenal - says Mikel Arteta after Brazilian impresses at Leicester

Mikel Arteta believes Willian is beginning to show his true colours after a difficult start to life at Arsenal.

The Brazilian has struggled since signing from Chelsea on a free transfer in the summer.

Willian has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal as a result but he was handed his first Premier League start since December 19 against Leicester.

And the 32-year-old took his chance, finishing the 3-1 win with two assists.

Arteta thinks he is finally starting to show his true quality.

“He was really good today, but we have seen that in training in the last few weeks,” said the Arsenal manager. “I think he is revealing himself. He is not accepting the situation.

“I think he was the player who changed the game against Benfica in the last few moments when he came on and today I think he was terrific and the same for the senior players.”
