Willian sends message to Chelsea fans over club's ambitions this season

Willian believes that Chelsea can win a trophy this season despite all the issues that the Blues have had off the pitch.

The Blues are still in the middle of a transfer ban, while they changed head coach once again in the summer with Frank Lampard replacing Maurizio Sarri.

With several injuries as well to deal with at the beginning of the season, Chelsea had a mixed start to the season, but have turned things around before the international break.

Chelsea currently sit fifth in the Premier League, got their first win in the Champions League this season over Lille and are in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup where they will face Manchester United.

And Willian believes that the Blues can get a trophy this season, despite issues happening off the field.

"[I want] To continue to play, to play at my best level, goals, assists, and to win titles," Willian told Chelsea's website.

"If you play for this club you have to think about winning titles, because Chelsea always wants to win. We know there’s a new coach, a new philosophy, but we can win something important. That’s what I want.

"It’s a bit weird he [Lampard] is my boss now, but I am very happy to work with him again. He has given me the confidence to play.

"He wants me to be happy. A part of the performances I have had in the past couple of games I have to dedicate to him. He always says to me 'I want you to be happy'. That’s why I have been playing like I have been.

"I think our style of play has helped me, but not only that. The freedom he gives to us is important as well. I don’t have to stay on the right side. I can move around, I can move between the lines, I can move to the left side as well.

"I feel good playing in this way and that’s why I have been playing better and better. I hope to continue like this."
