New Arsenal signing Willian says Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing a new contract is "very important" to him.
Standard Sport understands Aubameyang has agreed a new three-year deal worth £250,000 a week to end speculation over his future. An announcement could come this week.
Willian has persuaded by Mikel Arteta to join the Gunners after leaving Chelsea and has told The Sun that Aubameyang staying is key to his plans for the coming season.
"I joined Arsenal because we can challenge for titles but Pierre will be a big part of the plan," he said.
"He has to stay — it is very important to me. This is a guy who gets 25-30 goals a season and we have to keep a player like that.
"He's one of the best players in our team and somebody I want to be making chances for."
Arsenal begin pre-season training this weekend.
