Willian drops Instagram hint over Mikel Arteta's Arsenal team selection vs Wolves

Willian could earn a recall to an Arsenal Premier League starting lineup for the first time in eight games against Wolves this evening.

The fixtures are coming thick and fast for the Gunners as they travel to Molineux Stadium just three days after being held to a goalless draw by Manchester United.

Willian was a second half substitute in that game, replacing compatriot Gabriel Martinelli at the interval.

Furthermore, the Brazilian came close to finally breaking his duck for Arsenal when his effort from close range was blocked by Aaron Wan-Bissaka with David de Gea to beat.

But was Willian's performance against United enough to earn him a first Premier League start since the Gunners' 2-1 loss away at Everton back in December?

Perhaps, coincidentally Arsenal's form has improved since that defeat at Goodison Park as Mikel Arteta has found joy in the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka in the attacking midfield positions.

Whilst it remains to be seen as to what the Spaniard does, it looks like Willian, as expected, will at least be in the Arsenal matchday squad if his social media activity is anything to go by.

Taking to Instagram, the 32-year-old has done his best to hype up the big game in the midlands.

Interestingly, Willian has done this whenever he has been named in a matchday squad this season.

In addition, teammates such as Thomas Partey, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Nicolas Pepe have also used the same ploy to hint at Arteta's possible team selection.

But is Arteta planning to name the Brazilian - who is yet to show his best form since arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer - in his lineup?

With Bukayo Saka back in full training, there could be the option to hand the teenager an immediate recall after missing the Man United draw with a slight hip problem.

If the north London outfit are able to leave Molineux Stadium with all three points they will leapfrog bitter rivals Tottenham in the table, albeit for a couple of days potentially.
