William Storey claims that 'UK is envy of football world' amid takeover talk

William Storey has taken to social media to praise the EFL's administrative process amid Sunderland takeover talk.

The the soft drink Rich Energy founder posted an image, claiming to be the EFL Regulation 19 and Appendix 3 Owners and Directors Test, on his social media.

His post comes just days after he took to Twitter claiming that his bid was at the "very end of process" and that fans would have to be patient.

Last week, the Guardian revealed that Black Cats owner Stewart Donald agreed a deal to sell the club to a consortium led by Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, son of ex-Marseille owner Robert.

Storey said a takeover bid from Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus was "nonsense."

Storey tweeted: "I have to say I find the administration of football in this country extremely professional.

"The UK is the envy of the football world!"

However, a source at the club previously told the ChronicleLive that Storey was not viewed as a credible buyer.

There have been question marks surrounding the legitimacy of Storey's takeover bid, with many fans doubting his public declaration of a takeover at Sunderland.

This has led to increased scrutiny over his business background earlier this year.

His bid to save Force India F1 team was not deemed viable and his sponsorship of HAAS F1 team was later cut short.
