Former Arsenal stalwart and 2003-04 'Invincible' Lauren has talked up a potential summer move for versatile Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.
Saliba only turned 18 in March, but has impressed in 19 first-team appearances for Les Verts this season and recently put pen to paper on an improved contract until 2023 just a year on from signing professional terms.
Europa League finalists Arsenal have been frequently linked with a £25million move for the player as Unai Emery seeks to strengthen his oft-criticised defence during the forthcoming transfer window, while the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Benfica are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Asked if Saliba - who was recently forced to pull out of France's squad for the Under-20 World Cup in Poland due to injury - would represent a good signing for Arsenal, Lauren was effusive in his praise of the teenager.
"Yes, he looks a very good player," he told AmericanGambler.com.
"Strong, tall, can come out of the back with the ball and an international for France.
"He reads the game very well, which is important for a player at the back, you have to anticipate and he looks very good at just 18, so the future is bright."
