William Saliba, Nicolas Pepe - Latest Arsenal transfer rumours ahead of January window

The January transfer window is fast approaching.

As a number of players are set to miss at least a few weeks of action at the beginning of 2022 because of the Africa Cup of Nations, Edu may need to dip into the market to add to Mikel Arteta's Arsenal squad.

Meanwhile, some player's have uncertain futures at the Emirates.

The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are coming to the end of their contracts at the club and may well benefit from a January move.

With that all in mind, let's take a look at some of the latest rumours surrounding the club.

Marseille are interested in signing Arsenal loanee William Saliba on a permanent deal.

The Frenchman signed for the Gunners in a deal worth £27million in 2019 but is yet to make a senior appearance for them.

He's subsequently been loaned out three times, firstly back to Saint Etienne, then to OGC Nice and now Marseille.

What?

Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in offensive reinforcements in January and sees Kulusevski as the perfect fit.

In order to secure his services, Arsenal are prepared to propose a swap deal involving him and Nicolas Pepe.

Juventus, though, are only interested in cash payment and value their attacker at around €30-€35million (£25.5-£30million)

Who?

Eddie Nketiah

What?

When asked about Nketiah's current situation, Brown said: "Nketiah has been up for sale for months."

The Englishman's contract expires in June 2022 and although he's been linked with moves to several Premier League clubs, the Gunners have been unable to sell him.

As he's only being used as a role player under Arteta, it doesn't look as though he'll ever have a starting birth at the Emirates and he may need to move in order to further his career as a result.
