William Saliba discusses future as Arsenal get Barcelona offer and Chelsea eye Hale End striker

Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

William Saliba coy on future plans

Speaking to TV channel RTL (via The Mirror), on loan Arsenal defender, William Saliba stayed coy on his future plans, “I prefer not to speak about my future, but I’m very good here.

“I don’t regret my decision. I have been very happy since day one. I have one year here and I am going to give my all.”

Saliba is yet to feature for Arsenal in a competitive match and is currently out on his third loan spell, with French team Olympique de Marseille. The defender was signed under Unai Emery but has been largely shunned by Mikel Arteta.

Add to this the fact that he’s looking for a permanent move to the Ligue 1 side despite signing for Arsenal on a five-year deal in 2019.

Our take: Who wouldn't swap being basically ignored by Arteta to getting consistent minutes and playing time away from Arsenal, you can't fault him for looking for a permanent move away from North London at this point…

Aubameyang keen on Barca

El Nacional have reported that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is interested in ‘Xavi’s new project’ at Arsenal after becoming the Catalan giants head coach. He’s got a huge rebuilding job on his hands after the departure of some key mainstays in the side.

Lionel Messi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain was the biggest one of course. The club will also struggle for a huge transfer budget and Aubameyang whose contract ends next season could be a decently priced buy for Barca.

Aubamyenag was a notable omission from Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Southampton. But, that didn’t stop the Gunners who seemed like they were fine without him.

Blues monitor Hale End star

It’s been reported, Arsenal are struggling to keep centre-forward, Khayon Edwards at the club. The 18-year-old only has six months left on his contract and numerous clubs eyeing him.

Multiple clubs, including London rivals, Chelsea are monitoring his performances.. Various other clubs in the Premier League including, Leeds, Southampton, Brighton and Newcastle are also interested in the players. As well as multiple German clubs who are all monitoring his developments.

The Gunners are yet to establish a professional contract with the forward who has already scored 14 goals this season. The youngster is on a scholarship deal with the club, currently playing for the U-18’s.

Our take: Be sensible now Arsenal, remember you need a striker...
