William Lieper murder suspect accused of transporting body to Pollok park in wheelie bin

A suspect has appeared in court today accused of murdering a man and taking him to a park in a wheelie bin.

Jordan McPhie, 40, allegedly assaulted William Lieper, 31, at his home in Glasgow’s Pollok between August 2 and 4 this year.

Prosecutors state McPhie repeatedly inflicted a blunt force trauma to the head and body by means unknown to the prosecutor and that he did murder him.

McPhie faces a separate of attempting to defeat the ends of justice during the same time period.

It is claimed McPhie acted with unknown people while “knowing he committed murder and being conscious of his guilt.”

McPhie is alleged to have purchased bleach and lighter fluid to use in order to destroy evidence.

He is also accused of burning clothing and part of a blood soaked mattress in the rear garden of his home.

It is claimed he then removed Mr Lieper’s body by placing him in a wheelie bin and transported him to Hillhouse Park in Pollok.

Allegations include McPhie burning Mr Lieper’s body and the wheelie bin.

McPhie is also stated to have tried to evade detection by the police by moving through various addresses and shaving his head to avoid detection and arrest.

McPhie’s final charge states he stole a quantity of fuel from an Esso garage in the city’s Barrhead on August 6 this year.

McPhie made no plea through his lawyer Paul Langan at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He asked Sheriff Paul Crozier for bail which was granted.

McPhee will appear at court again within eight days pending further examination.
