William Leiper Glasgow police investigation: Man arrested in connection with death of 31-year-old

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of William Leiper, police have this evening confirmed.

The 31-year-old's remains were found in Househill Park in the Pollok area of Glasgow at around 7.35am on Wednesday, August 4.

A major police investigation into the incident has been gathering pace since, with detectives appealing to the public for information.

Police Scotland have tonight advised a 40-year-old has been arrested in connection with his death.

A police statement released this evening said: "Police Scotland can today, Friday 13 August, confirm that a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of William Leiper in Glasgow.

"Mr Leiper, 31, was found in Househill Park, in the Pollok area of the city around 7.35am on Wednesday, 4 August, 2021.

"Enquires are continuing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information who has not already spoken to officers is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0562 of Wednesday, 4 August, 2021.

"Information can also be submitted anonymously via our dedicated public portal at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/SCOT21S21-PO1/."
