William and Kate ‘considering move to Windsor’ to be close to Queen

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have apparently been considering a move to Windsor

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been “seriously considering” a move to Windsor.

Such a move would bring Prince William and Kate closer to the Queen who feels most at home at Windsor Castle.

The royal couple were believed to be “eyeing up” properties in the area which would be a suitable fit for their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

For now, their family time has been divided between Kensington Palace in London and their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

It was said the family have been mulling over a full-time move to Windsor where they could spend the majority of their time and commute into the capital when they needed to.

Their two eldest children attend school in London.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: “Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham but it doesn’t really work any more. It’s a little too far away for weekend but Windsor is a perfect compromise.

“They are eyeing up options in the area.”

The move certainly would be advantageous.

Not only would the change in location bring the Cambridges closer to the Queen but also they would be nearby Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton as well as her sister Pippa and her family who live in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have set up their home across the pond in Los Angeles with their children Archie and Lilibet.
