Prince Harry wore a matching blue suit with William at Diana’s statue unveiling in a touching nod to their late mother, a royal commentator has claimed.
The brothers put their rift to one side for the memorial to their mother at Kensington Palace last week and that included coordinating their suits with a blue that was preferred by Diana.
Harry and William appeared to get on well and showed a brotherly bond as they put on the united front for Diana.
The event at Kensington Palace marked the second time the brothers have been reunited since Harry stepped down from royal duties and moved to the US with wife Meghan Markle.
Richard Eden noted Harry has often worn a grey suit since meeting the Duchess of Sussex but ditched the colour in favour of a blue for the event honouring his mum.
He told Palace Confidential: “You might have noticed they were both wearing navy suits and Harry has been stuck to his grey suit ever since he met Meghan.
"I think she suggested, 'you look good in grey' and he's always worn it but on this occasion he wore navy.
"That was Diana's favourite suit for a man, it was navy."
Mr Eden, diary editor at the Daily Mail, added: "If you look at Prince Charles at her funeral, he didn't wear black, he wore a navy suit and that's because Diana liked him best in navy.
"There was definitely significance in that I think."
It comes as Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family has been put under a microscope following his move to the United States and a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke of Sussex said that he knew that the royal way of life wasn’t for him in his early 20s and he didn’t want his children to be brought up in the same environment as he did.
Harry flew back alone to the UK for the unveiling of the statue to Diana who would have turned 60 this year.
It was the first time he has been back since Prince Philip ’s funeral in April and Meghan remained in California with their recently born daughter Lilibet.
Royal author Penny Junor felt that Harry and William's united display at the unveiling was a positive sign for their relationship.
She said: "My guess is there's quite a way to go, but it's encouraging to see the two of them together, and with smiles on their faces. I think that is progress."
